Tour 2025

It is our concern to connect the knowledge and wisdom of the Indigenous cultures of the Amazon with the knowledge and wisdom of "Western cultures". Both sides can learn from this dialogue and support each other in shaping their future. We regularly organise gatherings and cultural events with the Huni Kuin in Europe.

In August and September 2025 Bunke, Rita and Bismaní will visit us in Europe.

See the program below.

Huni Kuin representatives present themselves

Bunke Inani Huni Kuin

Bunke Inani Huni Kuin lives in the village of Boa Vista on the Rio Jordão in Acre, in the Brazilian Amazon. She has 5 children and is a cultural leader for women in her region. She has traveled extensively throughout Latin America, Europe and the Middle East to share her culture and traditions and to advocate for more indigenous wisdom in the world. Bunke also works with other Indigenous peoples, sharing Huni Kuin wisdom and medicine to strengthen their indigenous identities. She is an experienced workshop and retreat leader with a strong focus on women's empowerment. Bunke is co-founder and president of the women's association Aibu Dayá.

Rita Huni Kuin

Rita Huni Kuin comes from the village of Chico Curumim on the Rio Jordão and lives in the small town of Jordão. She is a visual artist and depicts traditional oral stories from her culture and her own visions in her art. Her works have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo (MASP) and at Berlin Art Week, among others. Rita is one of the most important young representatives and spokespeople of the Huni Kuin.  Together with her sister Yaká, she is co-founder of the Huni Kuin artists' group Kayatibú, which promotes the culture and spirituality of her people through art, and the Indigenous women's association Aibu Dayá. This is Rita's third stay in Germany!

Bismaní Huni Kuin

Bismani Huni Kuin is a 19-year-old representative from the village of Novo Natal. She is the granddaughter of Ozélia, a highly respected female leader and medicine woman in the region. Bismani walks the path of both student and teacher: she learns traditional songs and medicinal knowledge from her elders and shares them with the younger generations in her village. Currently, she lives in Rio Branco, the capital of Acre, where she continues her studies. She is deeply committed to seeking knowledge and carrying her culture forward.

Yaká Huni Kuin

Like her sister Rita, Yaká Huni Kuin was born in the village of Chico Curumim. She is a renowned visual artist and a dedicated student of the traditional teachings and medicines of her culture. Yaká began to pass on her cultural heritage at a young age. Her journey as an artist began at the age of 15 when she started to bring her knowledge and visions to canvas. Together with her sister Rita, Yaká is a co-founder of the Huni Kuin artist group Kayatíbú. She is also an important voice in her community, campaigning for unity among the villages of the Jordão region and for the protection of their traditional culture. We are proud to welcome Yaká in Germany for the first time!

A collaborative Workshop on Clean Drinking Water in the Amazon

Although the Amazon holds vast water resources, clean drinking water is scarce—especially for rural and Indigenous communities. In Brazil, about 70% of Indigenous people lack safe, reliable access. Causes include poor sewage systems, mining and agricultural pollution, and climate change.

In this workshop with Indigenous artist and activist Rita Huni Kuin, we’ll explore the situation and co-create practical solutions. Experts and anyone passionate about clean water, treatment, rainforest conservation, or Indigenous empowerment are welcome.

Through dialogue, shared experiences, and collaborative mapping, we’ll seek innovative yet realistic approaches. Join us to build knowledge, foster solidarity, and work toward clean water for all
