Working with the Huni Kuin

Since 2013, Living Gaia e.V. has been working with the indigenous people of the Huni Kuin in the Jordão region in the Brazilian state of Acre. It is our great concern to connect the knowledge and wisdom of the indigenous cultures of the Amazon with the knowledge and wisdom of western cultures. Especially in today's world, it is extremely important to bring the indigenous and the modern world together and to let something new emerge from the exchange. That is why we are very happy about the close relationship we have established with the Huni Kuin.

Land Purchase Amazon Project
Currently we are working on the "Land Purchase Amazon Project" and its implementation. There is a website developed by Living Gaia e.V. especially for the land purchase project, which was developed by the digital agency Panorama3000 as part of the ProBono project. There is the possibility to donate directly on the site.

Ainbu Dayá
Ainbu Dayá means the work of women in Hatxã Kuin, the language of the Huni Kuin tribe. Ainbu Dayá is one of the first indigenous women's associations in the field since 2022 and is based in the small town of Jordão, Acre, Brazil. Together with the association, we work to empower the women of the Huni Kuin and support them in their struggle to protect the rainforest and their traditions. More information about the women's projects can be found here.
